The Board Game Symphony - a parody
Another song created by the mighty AI (Suno, ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion) with editing all done by myself (I also did quite a few touch-ups on the song itself, the lyrics and the pictures).

AI music and lyrics are garbage
Is there / will there be an automata or an AI for solo play or do you just play against yourself for highscore?
It‘s not just beat your own score, you also have to achieve certain „tasks“ to actually win a scenario. But afaik there is no Automaton to simulate another player. The tasks/scenarios are quite a puzzle though.

No, I didn’t. I saw it in Essen the year it came out, but haven’t played it. How different/similar is it?
@@realjplay It gets rid of the bag building, which is a lost in my opinion. But the 3d tree and the story bits I do enjoy a lot. It's probably has more replayability than the normal Yggdrasil one with a story to playthrough. I do enjoy both and think that the original one with the Asgard expansion and the passive player powers helps a lot.
@MDEFLO I really like the „bagbuilding“ mechanic (also a huge fan of „Orléans“) but I agree that the theme doesn’t really come through in the original game.
Hello! Is it possibile to take out a bot first turn? It happened to me, i got a wonder that made me unlock first turn war card. Is it a bug?
I can‘t really recall, but as far as I remember the solo rules weren’t fully fleshed out.

Actually quite a few of the novels feature in this but most noteably: wyrd sisters, lords and ladies and carpe jugulem. In witches abroad they actually spend time AWAY from Lancre. But all witches novels and tiffany aching books are referenced

@wardenakfiles Indeed I think that trading may be more rewarding, but I don’t think with this alone you won’t make it, but the multiplier is truly important.

Yeah - true that! With all the other Alien themed games back in the day, they maybe wanted to take a different approach, but I agree it doesn’t necessarily fit that world.

This is the first time I've seen an Yggdrasil gameplay video. I like the way tokens are drawn, and how they can be returned to other bags later - I've always been a fan of chit-pull and bag-building mechanics. I don't know why but I get a kind of "Ghost Stories" vibe from this, though it's obviously completely different ... maybe I have low blood sugar or something? 😂
Not a big deal, the game is just 13 years old or so ;-) And 100% agreed - I really like a good chit pull mechanic!

Thanks, Stasia. This one can really be a challenge. Afaik you can master it at some point in time (to some extent), but I am nowhere near :-)
I've only ever played the base game with the patent rules are it's very easy to manage. It's mostly to prevent other players from using your cool new building before you get a chance - something that has repeatedly hurt the game experience for a lot of people. I like the big chunky tokens for it in this expansion.
The increased gold for trade was another officially recommended rules update from the designer/publisher that I've always played with. I also recommend that rule even with the base game.
Thanks and great to know! It was a strategy/tactic to get rid of the heavy industries once you no longer needed those - which you can still do of course. I have played this game like 20 times or so and honestly never came to the problem with what the patent tries to solve actually… I do see that the expansion is dealing with some changes; the extra engineer at the start and the proper „price“ for higher tier trades is definitely a good change.
